Privacy policy

The short version: details you submit through an enquiry form go to the accounting firm or bookkeeper we match you with, so they can contact you about that enquiry, and nowhere else.

What we collect

When you submit an enquiry we collect what you type into the form: your name, email address, phone number if given, your location, and your description of what you need. Alongside it we record routine technical context: the page the form was on, when it was submitted, and standard analytics signals (see below). If you reply to our confirmation email, we keep that reply with your enquiry.

What we do with it

Your enquiry is passed to the accounting firm or bookkeeper matched to it, so they can contact you about it. We may receive a referral fee from that accountant or bookkeeper. That is how the site is funded and it is disclosed on every form. We require the businesses we introduce to use your details only for responding to your enquiry.

We also send you a confirmation email about your enquiry. It asks you to confirm you would like to be contacted and may ask a few follow-up questions so the accountant or bookkeeper who calls already understands what you need. Answering is optional.

What we never do

We do not sell your details to marketing lists or data brokers, share them with anyone beyond the matched accountant or bookkeeper and the service providers that run this site, or use them to send you marketing you did not ask for.

Analytics

We use privacy-focused analytics (Plausible) to understand which pages help people. It uses no advertising identifiers and builds no cross-site profile of you.

Storage, access and correction

Enquiry data is stored on reputable cloud infrastructure and retained only as long as needed to operate the referral service and meet legal obligations. You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it: contact us and we will action it promptly.

Complaints

If you believe we have mishandled your information, contact us first and we will investigate. You can also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
